On Oct. 5, a 53-year-old male bicycle rider on his way to Mass was hit by a car near Shaw and Allen Streets in Braintree. He was taken to the hospital but died the following evening due to head trauma. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

A Massachusetts woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck as she attempted to cross the street Sept. 24. Reports say that she had been on her way to daily Mass when the accident occurred.
An unidentified man is dead as the result of an apparent hit-and-run auto accident that occurred around 10:51 p.m. June 4 in Lowell. According to reports, witnesses observed a vehicle that appeared to be speeding on Westford Street in the vicinity of Marlborough Street.
