Massachusetts woman critically injured in pedestrian accident
On Sept. 14, a pedestrian accident left a Massachusetts woman with life-threatening injuries, according to authorities. The 9:50 p.m. incident reportedly occurred near the Lowell intersection of Middlesex and East Aldea streets. That is where a 33-year-old woman was lying unconscious when emergency crews arrived, officials stated. Reportedly, the woman had no pulse, prompting emergency personnel to perform CPR. Upon being stabilized, she received aerial transport to Tufts Medical Center, where officials listed her in critical condition. Moreover, officials indicated that her injuries included serious head trauma. At the time of the accident, the woman was with her boyfriend, who suffered no injuries, purportedly. It was unclear immediately following the event how the pedestrian accident occurred. According to officials, the investigation into the incident is underway. Police issued a citation to the driver of the car, a 31-year-old Lowell woman, for driving with a suspended license. It was not immediately clear whether the driver would face any criminal charges in connection with the accident. As this particular case illustrates, the injuries that result from pedestrian accidents can be devastating. Following some physical afflictions, such as brain injuries, accident victims may never be able to return to their normal lives. Critical head trauma can have profound effects on victims, including impaired cognitive and physical functions. Injuries often require long-term rehabilitation and therapy, which can be very costly. On account of these adverse ramifications, many victims in pedestrian accidents caused by another party’s actionable behavior, such as distracted driving or general recklessness, seek the representation of a personal injury attorney. The lawyer may provide counsel as to whether a lawsuit seems tenable and, if so, provide the resources necessary to build a compelling personal injury case..
