5 injured in highway crash
On June 25, Massachusetts authorities reported that a car accident left five individuals, including a state police trooper, with injuries. Other people were injured in the crash which continues to be under investigation. The police trooper was reportedly sitting in his cruiser on the shoulder of Route 93 at 2:45 a.m. His blue lights were flashing. A Honda Accord that was traveling at a fast speed struck the vehicle. The impact caused the cruiser to be pushed on to the road where it was then struck by a second vehicle. The cruiser spun around until it was facing the opposite direction. The report stated that the trooper was wearing a seat belt when the crash took place. He was treated for his injuries before being released from a hospital. All four individuals who were in the Honda Accord but not wearing their seat belts were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. Authorities stated that they intended to file charges against the responsible driver once they finished investigating the incident. People who are injured in a car collision often face the need for lengthy and expensive medical care and treatment. In many cases they are unable to return to work for prolonged periods, further damaging their financial condition. When the evidence, including the police investigation report and eyewitness testimony, reveals that the accident was caused by a speeding, impaired or otherwise negligent driver, an attorney could assist a victim in recovering compensation for these and other losses by filing a personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault motorist.
