3 injured in multi-vehicle Massachusetts accident

A three-vehicle accident in Massachusetts has left three people injured. The incident happened around 6 p.m. on Aug. 28 on Interstate 95 near Attleboro. A 33-year-old man driving an SUV northbound allegedly crossed the median and hit another vehicle head-on. A third vehicle that was in the southbound lanes also became involved in the crash. Along with the driver of the SUV, a 21-year-old man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. Both had serious injuries. A 52-year-old man was also taken to Rhode Island Hospital with potentially serious injuries. Lanes were closed for more than two hours following the incident. The cause of the car accident remained under investigation at the time of the report. Individuals who are injured in car accidents may wish to file a lawsuit against the person responsible. A lawsuit can cover medical expenses, lost wages and more. Depending on the severity of their injuries, victims may have weeks, months or even years of recovery ahead of them. A lawsuit may provide more compensation than insurance can. To be successful in such a case, it is necessary to prove negligence. This is possible even if no criminal charges are filed. Civil and criminal cases are separate from one another, and the burden of proof in a civil case is lower. Proving negligence means demonstrating that the responsible party acted in a way that did not show a reasonable amount of care. In this case, if the man who crossed the centerline did so because his vehicle was faulty, the manufacturer might be held responsible. If the man was driving recklessly or under the influence, the suit might be filed against him.
